Why choose a private class?

➡️ You’ll have the instructor all to yourself, so the programme can be adapted to what you want to focus on most and you can ask questions whenever you need to.

➡️ You can work at your own pace in a quiet studio shared only with your partner or friend (+ the instructor 🙂).

🗓️ Sessions can be arranged around your schedule - for example, in the evening after work or on a Saturday.

  • 🏺 Wheel throwing

You create your own pottery piece(s).

  • 🔥 First firing

We’ll let your pieces dry and then fire them for the first time.

  • 🎨 Glazing

During your next visit, you’ll paint and/or glaze your pieces.

  • 🖤 Finished

After the second firing, you can take your creations home.

Who will guide you through the course?

Me! 🙂 Hi, I’m Josie, the brains (and everything else) behind Hex Yeah Pottery. I’ve been working with ceramics for several years, and you’ll usually find me in the studio with my hands (and sometimes even my face 🙃) covered in clay.

As someone who used to get Bs in art class, I strongly believe that you don’t need to be “artistically gifted” to enjoy pottery. A lot of it simply comes down to technique, patience and a little practice.

That’s exactly how I teach my courses: no pressure, no expectation that you’ll get everything right on your first try, and plenty of room for questions and working at your own pace.

I look forward to meeting you! 😎

Where does the course take place?

In my studio in Prague 4 :) You’ll have your own pottery wheel and plenty of room to work on your beautiful creations.

📍 Hadovitá 12, Praha 4 – Michle

FAQ

Is the clay and firing included in the price?

Yes! You can use as much clay as you need, and both firings are included in the course price. There are absolutely no additional charges.

How many pieces will I take home with me?

As many as you can make during the course 😄 I want you to take home as much as possible, so there is no strict limit on the number of pieces.

As a general estimate, students usually make 1–2 pieces during the taster course and 5–7 pieces during the A–Z course.

How does scheduling the classes work?

Once you’ve placed an order, I’ll contact you with the available dates within 2-3 working days. We can only plan the first session and figure the rest out later if you need more flexibility.

How long does it take to finish the pieces?

I fire the kiln approximately every 5–8 weeks, depending on how busy the studio is. I’ll let you know as soon as your pieces are ready. :)

What should I bring with me?

Definitely bring a change of clothes: a T-shirt, trousers and a sweatshirt, as the studio can sometimes be cold. Washable shoes are also recommended (crocs are ideal)

All tools and materials will be provided. :)

Is parking available?

Yes. There is a blue parking zone directly in front of the studio where visitors can park for up to three hours. It’s usually easy to find a space.

If no spaces are available, you can also park on the nearby streets: Vnitřní, Vnější or Psárská.
